Using Fall to Have it all Fall Into Place

Fall is officially here! We can feel it, see it and our busy schedules reflect the rush we feel to get projects underway before the holiday season is upon us.

What projects do you have in mind? Downsizing, simplifying, organizing?
Sprucing up a room in anticipation of a cozy spot to hibernate this winter? Laying out the welcome mat for book club, a dinner party or the kids soccer team spaghetti dinner?

Let us help make your home an oasis of comfort to come home to or to share with others.

Color and Season Change

Traditionally Columbus Day marks the end of summer in the Northeast. Beach towels are washed and stowed away along with beach chairs and flip-flops. Like clockwork, the sky changes,  the leaves change color and temperatures fall. Not this year!

If you’ve been waiting for a crisp day to enjoy your pumpkin spice latte or take the kids apple picking you have had to be patient. Instead, we have been blessed with warm sunshine and blue sky‘s. However, we can enjoy the feel of fall by simply changing the colors we wear. Color changes our mood. Replace the orange and hot pink in your wardrobe with persimmon, the turquoise and sky blue with navy and yellow with warm beige and chocolate brown. Have a favorite color you simply can’t live without? Accessorize with it to keep you smiling.

Surely, The leaves will change and grace us with a warm tapestry of color that you can reflect as you accessorize your own home for fall  New placemats, an autumn wreath or a collection of chestnuts and pumpkins will give you all you need before dressing our homes up for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Nature is falling into fall slowly this year. Let’s enjoy it!!

Is Hiring an Interior Designer Worth it?

Looking for Value and Luxury? We get it!

Decorating, renovating or just a simple spruce up is easy right? It looks so easy on HGTV. Do you ask yourself, “Why did I buy the sofa that is too big for the room, hang the drapes that pucker and sag and pick paint colors that seem to cast shadows at all times of the day?”

Sometimes these are costly mistakes. But they do not need to be!

Life is complicated. You have a job, a commute, a family calendar that needs to be juggled and a house that begs to be organized and decorated but you just can’t find the time. Over and over I hear individual’s express their dismay with their inability to pull it all together.

Why do we put so much pressue on ourselves? At work, if you need help or assistance, you ask your team to pitch in, and at home, you have a “honey do list” that you delegate to a handyman or a family member.

How valuable is your time? Do you settle in with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and start “decorating” from your favorite website at 9pm? Do deliveries arrive only to be boxed up and returned?

Greetings from Montana!

Hello! My trip has been incredible! I have never seen such beautiful scenery, especially in our own country. The wildflowers are something I have really connected with this trip and I wanted to share just a few thoughts I had about them.

We hold our breath as spring begins to bud and then all of a sudden it’s August and everything is in bloom! As I travel across country this summer the landscape changes with the light and the flowers tell the story as we passed through cornfields, the high plains, the foothills and the mountains. Beauty surrounds! Cutting gardens are ripe for picking!!  Change up your bedside table, powder room or kitchen sink with a vase of wildflowers!

This excerpt is from my journal. I love connecting with everything out here in the woods, wilderness, and American Mid-West. This has truly been a dream come true!

It’s All About the Berries

Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Rasperries, it’s not just their rich color, it’s their texture and the clean fresh taste they leave on our lips that make them irresistible any time of day thoughout the summer. Fresh from the garden with our morning coffee, paired with cereal, sprinkled in salads, dressing up our cheese plate or better yet, added to a cocktail there’s more to celebrate in a berry than pie and shortcake.

Summer design is like our berries; it’s full color and fresh clean lines. Layered in texture to mimic the landscape of flowers in the garden, sand and crushed shells at the shore and soft summer moss by the lake our homes reflect our pace as we welcome the chance to relax, reflect and restore ourselves.

We bring this up on our blog because we can find inspiration from anywhere! I have an upcoming cross country trip and I am really looking forward to all that lies ahead of me. Where do you guys find your inspiration from?
